Our Croatian Adventure

Bursting with history and full of culture, the ever-popular country of Croatia has seen hoards of tourists flock upon it from near and far, to explore its mesmerising towns, islands and beaches over the past few years.

One of the main draws to this European country is a result of Dubrovnik’s dominating walls featuring as the location for Kings Landing, in the popular TV show, Game of Thrones. Although we can’t promise you will see any dragons during your time in Croatia, we can promise some superb scenery and unforgettable visits on our eight-day cruise.

But, don’t just take our word for it, recently we received some lovely feedback from some customers who joined our cruise last year and they wanted to let us know all about their experience.

“Last year we decided we wanted to travel to somewhere different, somewhere we’d never been before and when we saw that The River Cruise Line were offering a cruise through the Adriatic Sea – visiting some of Croatia’s most famous spots, we jumped at the chance and booked a seven-night cruise exploring the Dalmatian Coast.

The holiday itself was excellent in all respects and exceeded our expectations.

We spent our time at sea aboard a fabulous yacht cruiser called the MV Dream.”

“The ship itself was of a very high standard and the staff were excellent. The meals on board were exceptional and always beautifully presented.

And, although we were in a lower deck cabin, we were so surprised at the amount of space we had and that the bathroom even had a walk in shower!”

“The cruise itinerary was the perfect blend of relaxation and sightseeing and we visited some beautiful locations, each offering something different.

Our adventure began in Split where we joined our ship, we then sailed to Makarska.

Makarska is not as well know as some of the other parts of Croatia but it is truly stunning. The beaches were amazing and there’s nothing like the feeling of warm white sand on your toes, after a dip in the sea.

Another favourite destination of ours was Hvar. To see the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower was memorising, along with the beautiful gothic palaces. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and cafés where you can enjoy a pit stop in between wandering along the streets and the main square.”

Mljet

Visiting Mljet National Park, was also a day to remember. The salt lakes were spectacular and the park itself was the most stunning shade of green!

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Croatia without a stop in Dubrovnik, and after visiting we can see why this city is such a popular tourist destination.

The city walls we’re so fascinating – they didn’t seem real! We felt like we had stepped back in time.”

“Finally, your Cruise Manager, Ivana made the whole trip even more memorable – her passion for her country was infectious and she added so much to the trip.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday from start to finish and will certainly recommend the River Cruise Line to friends and family.” – Alison & Tony
